Rise and Shine High School Ntinda is an international hub that welcomes students from across the world. In line with international education and migration policies, the school is fully prepared to support and admit students from different countries. Below are the key considerations and requirements for international student admission.
1. Academic Qualifications
To be admitted to Rise and Shine High School, an applicant must be academically qualified for the level they wish to join. Students should have been enrolled in a recognized institution in their country of origin and must present certified academic results issued by the relevant examination body or institution.
The appropriate class for admission may be determined through a physical interview with the learner or based on international equivalence of the Ugandan curriculum.

2. Application for Admission
Once the class of admission has been confirmed, the student will be required to complete an admission form, either physically or through the school’s Online Admission System.

Upon successful confirmation and issuance of an admission letter (registration certificate), a school identification card will be processed and issued within a few days.
3. Student Visa (Student Pass)
In accordance with international migration standards, international students are issued a Student Visa (Student Pass) that permits them to study in Uganda. This visa is strictly for academic purposes and does not permit employment.
Any student found working while on a Student Visa will be disqualified, the visa will be cancelled, and the relevant legal consequences will apply.
The Student Pass is institution-specific. If a student transfers to another school after obtaining the visa through Rise and Shine High School, the school reserves the right to request the Immigration Department to cancel the visa.
The application for the Student Visa is processed by the school.
4. Verification and Equating of Results (For UNEB Candidates)
Students who intend to sit for Uganda National Examinations must have their previous academic results verified or equated by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
Guide to Equating Results
1. Translation of Results (Where Applicable)
UNEB only equates results presented in English. If academic results are issued in another language, they must first be translated through the Centre for Languages and Communication Services (CLCS), Makerere University.
To process the translation, applicants must submit their documents for assessment and costing, either physically at the CLCS offices or via email.
Once the cost has been communicated, payment must be made through the bank account below:
Bank: Stanbic Bank
Account Name: MUC PMC Institute of Languages
Account Number: 9030005817861
After payment, proof of payment must be presented for verification. An official receipt and a reference number will then be issued.
The standard translation process takes three to four working days. Express translation services are also available upon request.
When collecting the translated documents, the receipt bearing the reference number must be presented for easy identification.
2. Certification of Results by the Issuing Country
Both the original and translated copies of the academic results must be presented to the embassy of the country where the results were issued for verification and certification. The embassy will send an official email to UNEB confirming the authenticity of the results.
3. Application for Equating Results
The application for equating results is an online process and may be completed with assistance from the school after all required documents have been obtained.
- Valid school ID
- School recommendation letter
- Declaration form witnessed by a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public
